Texas Grazing Land Coalition

In our upcoming landowner workshop, Saving Working Lands: Preparing Landowners for Energy Development, Joseph Fitzsimons will be presenting on Mitigating the Impacts of Energy Development on Ranching and Wildlife Lands.

Joseph Fitzsimons is a natural resources, oil and gas, and water law attorney and a third-generation South Texas rancher. He has served as Vice President of the Texas Wildlife Association and as a Director of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He is also a former Chairman of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

This presentation will focus on recommended techniques for minimizing the impact of energy development activities on the land, wildlife and the landowner’s ranching operations, including eventual restoration and remediation practices. Emphasis will be placed upon increasing landowner control of the situation before problems arise, in addition to best practices for enforcing contracts once they are in place.
